Civil / Transportation Engineers – Project Managers & Supervisors Full Time

Multiple openings for motivated project engineers, managers & supervisors with Engineering firms in Waukesha and Madison, WI.  We have openings for Civil Engineers of a variety of levels.  These are a few brief examples of what we have.

Project Manager:

  • Take the lead in successfully marketing and winning transportation projects from clients including WisDOT, Counties, municipalities, and the private sector.
  • Prepare and negotiate contract document, manage clients, etc…
  • Manage projects overseeing the production of all project work, ensuring that the work is produced on schedule, profitably.

       Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in transportation.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Wisconsin.
  • A 5-6+ years of experience consisting of transportation related design and project management.

Civil/Municipal Engineer:

  • Assist the project manager in the design of municipal and civil engineering projects including sanitary collection and treatment systems, water supply and distribution systems, commercial site development, storm water systems, streets, and other public infrastructure.
  • Gather and analyze data on municipal and commercial projects and prepare reports.

 Required Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a municipal, environmental or transportation emphasis.
  • A minimum of 0-5 years of related engineering experience.

Desired skills and experiences:

  • Has passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam.
  • Construction observation or management experience is beneficial.
  • Ability to become a registered Professional Engineer in Wisconsin is beneficial.

Traffic Engineer:

  • Assist with the evaluation of traffic issues on transportation projects for freeways, arterial corridors, and intersections, including signals, roundabouts and other innovative intersection control designs.
  • Coordinate traffic counts and surveys for existing traffic conditions.
  • Analyze volume and safety data.
  • Assist with preparing traffic impact analyses, traffic operation analyses and modeling, traffic signal warrant studies, intersection control evaluations, signal timing and phasing optimizations, alternative analyses and traffic signal design.
  • Evaluate work zone conditions and prepare transportation management plans.
  • Develop reports detailing recommendations for roadway improvements.
  • Design plans for safe control and flow of traffic.

Required qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in transportation/traffic engineering.
  • Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam (FE).
  • A minimum of 4-10 years of related engineering experience.

Desired skills and experiences:

  • Project leadership.
  • Experience with traffic engineering software including HCS, Synchro, SimTraffic, IHSDM, SIDRA, and Vissim.
  • Knowledge of FHWA, WisDOT and local operations standards.
  • Knowledge of the MUTCD and HCM.
  • Experience with traffic counting equipment.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) ideal
  • Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE).
  • Road Safety Professional (RSP).
