Enjoy a nice office / field balance and the variety of managing design projects, using your AutoCAD skills, working out in the field, and collaborating with architects, engineers, technicians, and shop floor.
For over 50 years, this company has worked on projects throughout southeastern Wisconsin including the MSOE Men at Work Art Museum, Potawatomi Casino Expansion, the Marcus Amphitheatre, Miller Park, and the Milwaukee Riverwalk. They specialize in custom fabrication of steel stairs, ladders, railings and fences. Creative and cool designs are fabricated and installed for residential, commercial and industrial applications, both interior and exterior.
Job duties include:
Design and detail shop drawings of stairs, railings and miscellaneous steel from architectural drawings and field measurements using Auto Cad.
Work with architects and engineers to resolve design problems and omissions.
Field measure and revise submittal drawings to reflect actual field conditions.
Work with shop and field employee’s to see the project through from fabrication to installation.
2-yr Degree in Architectural Drafting, CAD Technology, or related field preferred. Bachelor’s Degree ideal.
1-2+ years of professional experience using Auto Cad, preferably in a structural or architectural setting
Strong math skills including trigonometry
Strong communication skills
Valid driver’s license and good driving record. (Offers of employment are contingent upon the candidate being approved by employer’s insurance carrier when driving company vehicles.)
