Immediate, career opportunity for a Design Engineer in Waukesha County. Must have strong CREO skills as a 2 hour test will be administered. Experience working on automotive parts & accessories or engine parts ideal. Custom order and new product development support along with improvements to current designs with emphasis on automotive parts, structural sheet metal, equipment assemblies, and system integration. Documenting and implementing new processes and communicating company mechanical concepts and designs. low $50’s- low $80’s depending on experience.
Design, draw, and revise component drawings using Creo. Create assembly and installation
drawings for projects or customer orders using Project Link/Windchill document and Macola BOM
Develop designs for products relating to defined customer needs or proprietary items
including the adaptation of existing designs into new applications.
Work with vendors to ensure we are using the best design and cost efficiencies.
Host design standardization and 3D modelling sessions to increase department throughput.
Track and communicate tasks through design engineering and update supervision as required.
Process BOM changes using engineering change numbers and tracking software.
Assist with PDM implementation and administration as needed.
Review components to reduce cost and/or select components for projects.
Coordinate and maintain engineering standards, processes and templates.
Create & maintain common thread through product lines via involvement in new product developments and
product & cost improvements efforts.
Education & Experience
Associates or Bachelor’s degree in mechanical design or equivalent experience. UL, CSA, or CE compliance training desired.
2+ years of design or product development experience in a production environment. 1 year
1 year of engine related exposure ideal. Must be an avid user of Creo, and some ERP experience (Macola or other common ERP software package).
