Lucrative 3-6 month contract in Sussex for an experienced Controls Engineer.
Global manufacturing company is processing several new orders for Electro-Static Oiling machines. They need a contract Controls Engineer with solid experience in programming and debugging automation systems that control E-S Oiling machines. The individual will be configuring PLC, HMI and Servo drive programs. Some of the programming work utilizes pre-existing programs as baseline code for NEW programs, some involves creating customized code for specific “one-of-a-kind” functions. The PLC programming language utilized is Ladder Diagram (LD) but there may be occasional needs for Function Block (FB) programming. The individual needs to be well versed in configuration and application of both memory specific and non-memory specific controller TAGS.
The primary job function is that of control software engineering and debugging activities. Other job duties entail; equipment F.A.T. involvement, report writing, interdepartmental communications, electrical schematic and panel drawing interpretation, control equipment documenting. The individual will be expected to work comfortably with and around industrial machinery and industrial electrical control panels (including actively energized) in a shop environment.
