Civil Engineer / Project Manager Full Time

PROJECT MANAGER

This is a hands-on position for a PM that likes to be in the trenches, not the ivory tower. Even though this is a large national company, you’re joining a small, close-knit team. You’re not a cog in the wheel, but an integral leader. You will identify, initiate, develop, maintain and manage a portfolio of clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Writing proposals, winning business, negotiating contracts/agreements with clients/subcontractors, setting and maintaining project budgets and overseeing projects.
  • Serving as main point of contact with clients and coordinate with team members and sub-consultants.
  • Utilizing design skills when working with other Project Managers and Project Engineers as they manage the internal teams for successful project completion.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration, preferably in both Illinois and Wisconsin
  • Minimum of ten (10) years progressive experience in all aspects of civil engineering with five (5) years of experience as a project manager in a business development role.
  • Strong knowledge in all aspects of site development, water distribution and sewer collection systems design, parking lots and roads, storm water management, grading, erosion and sediment control, from initial project planning through construction phase
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and hydrology and hydraulic software is also needed.

CIVIL ENGINEER

Responsibilities:

  • Designing technical aspects of site projects
  • Preparing permit applications and submittals
  • Researching potential development sites
  • Interacting with clients as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
  • 3-5+ years of progressive experience in land development design and civil engineering
  • Experience is needed in the areas of hydrology, site and paving plans, erosion control and grading plans, watermain and storm sewer plans
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D software and hydrology and hydraulic software is needed
