Architectural Designer Full Time

Fortune 500 company in West Allis has a direct hire opening for an Architectural Designer with a passion for space planning and equipment layout. Assist in the design of medical/dental offices from conception through completion.

The Architectural Designer supports Equipment and Technology Specialists, producing high quality, creative space plans and specifications for clientele, while focusing on ergonomics, proper equipment placement, detail, and code compliance.


  • Accurate completion of preliminary dental office designs using information provided by Equipment & Technology Sales Specialists. Preliminary plans to include 2D layout as well as 3D renderings for customer presentation. Complete projects in a timely manner according to Integrated Design Studio standards and expectations
  • Completion of final detailed specification plans as related to the installation of the dental equipment provided. Review plans for code compliance and provide all necessary details to local contractors/architects for final construction document creation.  Create additional details as needed
  • Actively participate in group meetings and discussions, maintain open communication with fellow designers and the field


  • Maintain overall project organization, both paper and electronic filing.  Establish method of tracking projects, managing turnaround times and archiving.5. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.

In addition to the essential duties and responsibilities listed above, all positions are also responsible for:

  • Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures including World Wide Business Standards.
  • Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments.

 Associate Degree in Architectural Design or similar field required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Experience: 1-2 years of professional architectural design experience.- Familiarity with uniform building codes ANSI & ADA guidelines.

– Interior finishes experience a plus, along with general construction knowledge.

Strong computer skills including:
-Familiarity with AIA layering standards.
-Experience using AutoCAD or Architectural Desktop software, including but not limited to the use of tool palettes, AEC object styles, paperspace (layout tabs).
-Experience with 3D tools available in ADT and/or AutoCAD.
-Experience using schedules in ADT and/or AutoCAD.

Strong communication skills:
-Ability to work well in teams
-Ability to communicate in a professional manner verbally and a solid understanding of written English and an ability to edit written text in paragraph and on plans

Good organizational skills:
-Ability to work independently in an effective, expeditious, and precise manner.
-Ability to juggle multiple tasks with efficiency and accuracy.
